The Surgical Facelift
A Facelift is an elegant surgical treatment designed to eliminate sagging skin and re-establish a more youthful appearance. After a Facelift you will look natural and more youthful, not “lifted” or stretched as seen in some public figures and celebrities. Indeed, our patients typically receive comments that they look younger, refreshed, rested, or they may even entertain questions regarding the loss of weight.
The main areas treated by a Facelift are the neck, cheeks, and the areas around the jawline often referred to as the jowls. Technically, the Facelift procedure does not address concerns around the eyes or eyebrows; however, if the patient desires these areas can be rejuvenated during the procedure.
The first step in the process is a face to face consultation. Here, an extensive and thorough evaluation of your goals is discussed and treatment options are individually designed. Depending on the extent of laxity and the patient’s concerns other procedures may be found to be more beneficial, such as our extended microlift or Microlift. Please be aware that our Facelifts, extended microlifts and Microlifts are far different than other similar sounding procedures marketed on television, radio, and print.
The Facelift Procedure in Detail
The Facelift procedure involves delicate camouflaged incisions. The subtle incisions are needed to gain access to the underlying tissues (or the so-called "muscle layer") of the skin. It is these sagging weakened tissues that are repositioned and supported to achieve rejuvenation of the neck, jowl and cheek. After fully releasing and re-suspending the underlying tissues ("muscle layer"), the skin is meticulously re-draped into position without tension. Excess skin is removed as needed. Unfortunately, most advertised techniques do NOT properly or thoroughly release the underlying tissues (or "muscle layer"), and as a result the procedure takes less time and is advertised as such to entice prospective patients.
The Facelift procedure is well tolerated with minimal discomfort. The amount of bruising and swelling is minimized by our techniques and our experience in post-surgical management methods. Sutures are routinely removed by the end of one week, and patients are typically out in public with confidence in less than 2 weeks. Our in-house aestheticians will also provide a complimentary make-up and skin care session to ease the transition into public.

Extended Microlift
The extended microlift (aka S-Lift) is an exceptional minimal downtime treatment option for patients with moderate laxity and sag in the neck, cheek, and areas around the jawline often referred to as the jowls. The extended microlift, in comparison to a Facelift, is for those patients requiring less treatment, especially in the neck, to achieve rejuvenation. In other words, the extended microlift and the Facelift can achieve the same final results but some patients will require less extensive techniques to meet their aesthetic goals. As a result, the incisions used in our extended microlift is shorter than in our Facelift. Go to our photo gallery to see before and after photos.

The extended microlift procedure is very well tolerated with minimal discomfort. The amount of bruising and swelling is minimal and quickly resolves in a matter of 7 to 10 days. Microlift
The Microlift is a unique and excellent treatment option for those patients with minimal to moderate laxity or sag around the neck, cheeks, and jawline, often referred to as the jowls. Patients who fit into this category can often improve the appearance of these areas in the mirror by simply pushing the skin near their jaw and neck in a posterior direction toward the ear. This action simulates a simple “tuck,” which is easily achieved with the Microlift.
The Micolift Procedure in Detail
The Microlift offers substantial improvement with minimal downtime. Patients often go home immediately after the procedure. Bruising and swelling is minimal, with little to no discomfort. Patients are typically out in public in a matter of days, sometimes even the day after surgery! The quick recovery period is the result of the limited incisions and skin elevation performed during the procedure.
The subtle and well camouflaged incisions are needed to gain access to the underlying tissues (or the so-called "muscle layer") of the skin. It is these sagging weakened tissues that are repositioned and supported to achieve rejuvenation of the neck, jowl and cheek. After releasing and re-suspending the underlying "muscle layer", the skin is meticulously re-draped into position without tension. Excess skin is removed as needed. Unfortunately, most advertised "lifts" do NOT properly release the "muscle layer", and as a result the procedure takes less time and is advertised as such to entice prospective patients. Consequently, our Microlift is quite different than other advertised "lifts." Our novel technique creates a tension-free, longer lasting, and very natural appearing result. The Microlift can be performed with other procedures such as fat augmentation, eyelid and eyebrow procedures.
The post-treatment course is very well tolerated. Sutures are removed only days after surgery, so by one week patients are essentially without signs of having had surgery, except for their vastly improved appearance.
